A self-proclaimed data nerd, she believes that data plays a crucial role in addressing these issues and is dedicated to ensuring that data is not only accurate but also meaningful, accessible, and actionable.
Natalie is the daughter of Caribbean parents who fled their country during a period of turmoil. She has always felt a sense of duality in her life as she is immersed in the rich culture and traditions of her parents' home country while also living a life of privilege in the United States. Being first-generation has given her valuable insights into how people's behaviors and motivations can influence their actions. This has instilled in her a deep sense of empathy and compassion, resulting in a curiosity to understand actions within the context of culture and beliefs. Currently a LEEAD Cohort 5 Scholar, Natalie believes that Culturally Responsive & Racially Equitable Evaluation (CRREE) is not just an approach to be incorporated but a natural embodiment that empowers practitioners to develop empathy with a constructive mindset.
Due to her lived experience, Natalie has developed a talent for conveying complex concepts in simple and easy-to-understand ways, which has been essential to her personal and professional development. As an avid learner, she enjoys exploring in-depth to understand the root causes and effects on communities and their well-being. This holistic approach enables her to gain a better understanding of the impact by adapting various methods and techniques to meet unique needs or settings.
When she's not obsessing over data visualizations and implementation science, you can find Natalie making plans for her upcoming trips with family and friends.
